Art doesn't have certain answers/solutions like math does...but don't think you can take art and slap a blob of paint on a canvas and be Picasso. Once you get the hang of it you get on a roll and you can create some art pieces that you're actually proud of. It's really satisfying!!!

WelcomeHello! I'm Mrs. Sparks and I teach 7th & 8th grade art, Drawing 1, Drawing 2 & 3, Painting 1, Painting 2 & 3, 3-D 1-3, and Visual Communications 1-3. This is my 20th year teaching at Fairfield. In 2011, I earned a Master's degree in Studio Art in Painting from the University of Saint Francis. I enjoy helping students solve visual art problems and like to spend time working on my own art outside of school. Mrs. Amor is the other half of the art department. She teaches Intro 2-D/3-D Art, 7th and 8th grade art.
Objectives for Advanced Art
PORTFOLIO Students will develop an art portfolio (online) exhibiting growth in: • technique (advancing knowledge in media) • use of elements and principles (applied/ demonstrated in their artwork) • critique (reflection upon own work) • content (more message behind the art as student progresses through the program) VOCABULARY Students will build art vocabulary to apply in formal analysis writings about artwork and art critiques. FORMAL ANALYSIS Students will write a formal analysis of the work of a known artist. This work includes a formal description of the artwork according to elements and principles as well as an interpretation and judgment of the artwork. |
